Nobody Is Escaping Anything

In short: Dr Morrow explains the mission. In Zombie Apocalypse the goal is to stabilise the lab’s bio-tech, make the cure and administer it while keeping the subject contained; the door only opens once the subject is secured.

Tuesday. A survivor asked today, looking straight into the camera, which way the exit was. I want to answer this once, here, for everybody.

You are not escaping. You are finishing my cure. The lab door opens when the subject is secured, and not before. Running away is what my staff did, and look how that turned out: they are all somewhere else, and I am in a cupboard.

The work is the work I left on the bench. Steady the equipment that is trying to go wrong, make the cure, give it to Gerald and keep him in his chamber while you do. Every rack, dial and sample station in the lab is there for that one purpose. I put them there. I would know.

I will not say which order things go in, or where anything is. Not because I am being difficult. Because I cannot remember, and if I could, I would be down there doing it myself.

Gerald, for his part, is not trying to escape either. He is trying to get to you. That is a different thing, and I have written a paper on it.

FAQ

What this note answers

Do you really have to brew a cure?

Yes, that is the mission. Zombie Apocalypse asks your team to stabilise the lab’s volatile bio-tech, synthesise the antidote and administer it before containment fails. Sample stations, dosage controls and racks of glowing vials all feed into that one goal.
