The Red Button Is Fine

In short: Dr Morrow approves of the panic button. Zombie Apocalypse has panic buttons so anyone can leave early while the rest play on, and every session is watched on CCTV by the staff.

Tuesday. A survivor pressed the panic button today, and I would like to say, publicly, that this was correct.

There are panic buttons in the lab. If somebody needs to leave, for any reason at all, they press one and the staff let them out, and the rest of the team carry on without them. Nobody is kept in the lab against their will. That is more than can be said for Gerald, but Gerald signed the forms.

The staff watch every session on the cameras, the whole hour, so they always know when somebody needs a hand, a hint or a door. I watch on the cameras too, from the storeroom, but nobody has given me a button. I have asked.

The survivor who left early sat in the foyer with a glass of water and cheered when her friends came out with the cure finished. She said she had been providing moral support from a safe distance. I have been providing moral support from a safe distance for three years. It is a recognised scientific role.

Gerald does not have a panic button. Gerald is the reason for the panic button.

FAQ

What this note answers

Will the zombie lab actually scare us?

Very — it is designed to scare. Zombie Apocalypse combines darkness, flashing light, theatrical smoke and possible jump scares with a snarling subject behind the glass all hour. Anyone nervous can talk it through with the team before booking.
